From the Principal (1 2016)

Dear Parents/Guardians

Welcome to the commencement of the 2016 school year. I trust you and your families enjoyed a well earned break during the Christmas/New Year Holidays. Welcome all new families to Corpus Christi in 2016, we look forward to working with you and your children during the year.

Welcome to new staff members, Miss Kate Foster in Prep FM, Miss Kym Foley teaching Indonesian, Mrs Lisette Noonan in Learning Support and Mrs Shannelle Woolley, Teacher Aide in Learning Support. We wish you all the best as you begin your journey with us here at Corpus Christi Catholic School.

Parent Information Sessions are an informative introduction to the new grade your child is entering and will be held as follows:

Tuesday 16th February – Grades Kindergarten & Prep from 6:00pm-7:00pm, in the Prep classrooms and Grades 1 & 2 from 7:00pm-8:00pm in the Grade 2 classrooms

Thursday 18th February – Grades 3 & 4 from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the Grade 4 classrooms and Grades 5 & 6 from 7:00pm-8:00pm in the Grade 6 classrooms.

Pick Up and Drop Off:

As a reminder at the commencement of the school year, it is important parents obey all signs and road rules in Alma Street, Ormond Street and Bignell Street.

Please do not park over driveways or “No Standing” signs, or in front of the units opposite the school in Alma Street. Residents in the area should not be blocked in and unable to leave their homes. If you park in the car park to take your child in to the classroom, please reverse park for the safety of all.

A reminder, the pick up and drop off points for students are the car park near the church and the turning circle in Bignell Street. In order for traffic to flow smoothly please ensure you follow the signs and drive forward as far as you can before stopping for your child to get out of or in the car.

When picking students up from Bignell Street it is important to drive up Ormond Street, go around the roundabout and back down Ormond Street, then turn into Bignell Street to the turning circle.

When leaving the car park near the church during the busy drop off and pick up times parents are asked to turn left up Alma Street so as not to congest traffic in the area. Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards

Mary Turnock
