RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

At Corpus Christi Catholic School, the Catholic faith is at the heart. 

of all we do. Religious Education is central to our mission and supports the spiritual and moral development of every child. Our program nurtures students through prayer, liturgy, the sacraments, faith formation, and social justice initiatives that reflect the values of the Gospel.

We use Catholic Education Tasmania’s Good News for Living curriculum to guide our Religious Education program. This curriculum provides a structured, age-appropriate approach to teaching the Catholic faith and encourages students to engage with scripture, Church tradition, and Catholic values in meaningful and relevant ways. It supports students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 in growing in faith, understanding, and personal reflection.

The religious life of our school is a shared responsibility, supported by a strong partnership with families and the Bellerive–Lindisfarne Parish. We are fortunate to be guided by Fr Ben Brooks, our Parish Priest, and Fr Kasun Watugoda Batugedara, Assistant Priest. Both priests work closely with staff to help shape rich and authentic Religious Education experiences for our students.

Nano Nagle

Nano Nagle, the founder of the Presentation Sisters, continues to inspire the mission and values of our school. Her lantern is a symbol of hope, service, and dedication to others.  By day, Nano taught children about faith, reading, writing, and mathematics. By night, she walked the streets to care for the poor and sick, bringing food, medicine, and comfort. Known as “the woman of the welcoming heart,” Nano’s compassion, courage, and perseverance continue to guide our community and

strategic direction.
